A multi-use space at the rear of an existing, recently renovated heritage home in Hawthorn East.

The space is designed to be much more than simply an off-street parking area. It can be configured to several uses including a home-office, a gym, a party space, or a guest suite.

Due to the highly developed site from the previous renovation, the form of the multi-use space was kept simple and the materiality soft and natural to ensure the backyard did not feel stark or city-like.

A Juliet balcony stretches over the existing pool for a playful interaction between the two areas.
